Door Traffic Metrics
Enter, Exit, Pass-by and Turnback — and the decisions each one drives.
These four numbers describe what happened at your entrance during the selected period.
Enter & Exit
People who crossed the counting line into and out of your store. Small differences between the two are normal — someone who entered before midnight and left after it counts in different periods, and a visitor still inside has entered but not yet exited.
Pass-by
People who walked past your entrance without coming in. On its own it measures your location's raw footfall; combined with Enter it gives your capture rate — the percentage of passers-by your window and entrance convert into visitors. If a window change moves capture rate, you'll see it here first.
Turnback
People who approached or stepped in, then turned around and left almost immediately. This is your physical bounce rate — and your most expensive lost customer, because the street already delivered them to you. Rising turnback usually points at first-impression problems: layout, queue visible from the door, lighting, or stock presentation just inside the entrance.
Staff and these numbers
The door counters are hardware tallies and include everyone who crosses the line — staff included. The people-level metrics (dwell, demographics, arrivals) exclude anyone wearing a staff badge; see the Employees card to track badge-wearer activity separately.
